A) Karen Coppock, for a third full term; and

B) Monika Lee, for a second full term; and

C) Ophelie Vico, for a first full term.

BACKGROUND:
The mission of the San Mateo County Commission on Aging (CoA) is to improve the quality of life for older adults in San Mateo County through the promotion of independence, self-sufficiency, mental and physical health, as well as community involvement.

DISCUSSION:
Karen Coppock has served on the CoA since 2017 when she served a partial term, and then was reappointed for full terms in 2018 and 2021. Upon approval of this reappointment, Karen will be serving her third full term. Monika Lee began serving on the CoA in 2019 for a partial term and was reappointed for a first full term in 2021. Upon approval of this reappointment, she will be serving her second full term. Ophelie Vico was initially appointed to a partial term in October 2023. Approval of the above reappointments reflect a term of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027.

Karen Coppock is fluent in Spanish and led an intergenerational home sharing program in the Bay Area, served in the Peace Corps in Guatemala and Uruguay, and has direct experience with caretaking for family members with Alzheimer's and cancer.

Oph?lie Vico currently resides in Pescadero. She is the Community Health Director at Puente de la Costa Sur where she manages a team of staff who address the needs of families and older adults residing in Pescadero, Loma Mar, La Honda and San Gregorio.
