Subject: Agreement with the Town of Woodside for Law Enforcement Services provided by the Sheriff's Office

Adopt a resolution authorizing an agreement with the Town of Woodside to receive law enforcement services provided by the Sheriff's Office for a term commencing July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2030, with reimbursement to the County for FY 2025-26 in the amount of $3,320,703 with revised calculated rates effective July 1 of each year of the term.

BACKGROUND:
The Sheriff's Office has provided contract law enforcement services to the Town of Woodside for approximately four years. Contracting with the Sheriff's Office has proved to be both a cost effective and efficient option for the Town; and Town management has expressed their desire to continue contracting with the County for these services. The most recent contract between the County and the Town of Woodside expired on June 30, 2025, and negotiations to renew this contract began while it was still in effect and continued after its expiration.
DISCUSSION:
Town management has expressed their desire to continue contracting with the County for the provision of law enforcement services and enter into a new five-year agreement beginning July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2030.
As with the previous agreement, services include: basic police patrol, traffic enforcement, crime investigations, and crime prevention services. Direct and indirect costs associated with delivering these services are also included. On an annual basis during the term of the contract, the Sheriff's Office will meet with the Town of Woodside to evaluate the contract and determine if there are any amendments necessary to address a change in costs, fees or services.
The County Attorney has reviewed and approved the resolution and agreement as to form.
