Adopt a resolution authorizing an agreement with California Clubhouse, Inc. for consumer-run peer-support and self-help services for the term of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023, and the Help@Hand pilot for the term of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, in an amount not to exceed $718,348.

BACKGROUND:
In 2014 Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) completed a three-year planning process for services and support to be funded by the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). After conducting an extensive stakeholder process, it was determined that supporting individuals living in the community and connecting such individuals with employment, volunteer opportunities, and ongoing peer support were among the highest of priorities.
A group of parents, whose adult children live with a persistent, serious mental illness, researched and launched the California Clubhouse (Clubhouse) in San Mateo County. They received formal training and the Clubhouse was granted 501(c)(3) not-for-profit status, as a consumer-run organization to provide consumer peer-support and self-help services in the County.
On June 25, 2020, the Chief of San Mateo County Health approved an amendment to the agreement with the Clubhouse, adding peer-led supports for the Help@Hand pilot to provide the technology needed to engage clients and develop Help@Hand Ambassadors to support client and peer connection, as well as wellness and recovery. Funding for the pilot ends June 30, 2022.
