Recommendation for appointments to the Commission on the Status of Women:
A) Rosie Tejada, for an initial partial term ending December 31, 2024; and
B) Dayna Chung, for an initial partial term ending December 31, 2025.

BACKGROUND:
The Commission is charged with the responsibility of assessing the needs of women, girls and families in the County. It acts as a resource and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors annually.
DISCUSSION:
Rosie Tejada and Dayna Chung are being recommended to serve initial partial terms on the commission for seats vacated by Cheryl Fama and Candra Williams who both resigned mid-term.
Rosie Tejada is a resident of Pacifica and has been interested in the Commission on the Status of Women for a few years. Rosie is extremely active in the community and currently serves as a Trustee of the Jefferson Union High School District. She is interested in supporting first & second generation families, women’s reproductive rights and stopping AAPI hate.
Dayna Chung currently resides in Menlo Park with her husband and three children. She is the Co-founder and Executive Director of Community Equity Collaborative, a nonprofit that advocates for equity in education. She is interested in continuing work with policy and uplifting women’s issues via the RISE Women’s Leadership Conference.
