Subject: Appointment to the Coastside Design Review Committee
RECOMMENDATION:
title
Recommendation for the appointment of Moshe Porter to the Coastside Design Review Committee, as an Architect At-Large Representative, for an initial partial term ending March 31, 2025.
body
BACKGROUND:
The Coastside Design Review Committee (CDRC) reviews new development proposals to ensure that they are compatible with the physical setting of the site and the visual character of the communities of Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada, Miramar, and Princeton. The Committee reviews development applications for compliance with specific site planning and architectural standards developed for the area.
DISCUSSION:
Moshe Porter is a licensed architect and is being recommended to serve as such for a seat with an existing partial term ending March 31, 2025, formerly held by Katie Kostiuk who has resigned.
A licensed architect in California, Moshe Porter grew up in La Jolla, California, but shortly after meeting his wife, relocated to the Bay Area. They spent the past three to four years planning and building their own home in Montara. Moshe has managed and assisted with projects for Handel Architects, Mark Cavagnero and Associates, and Wade Design Architects. He has worked at the single-family residential scale for the past several years around the Bay Area. Although a relatively new resident, Moshe has been a regular attendee of the CDRC hearings and is very interested in the community input and discussions that take place at these meetings. On the weekends, he can be found enjoying the local beaches or walking with his dog and new baby on the local trails.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
