BACKGROUND:
Peregrine Technologies, Inc. (Peregrine) is a US-based company that provides a law enforcement and public safety software platform designed to centralize data from multiple disparate sources into a single, unified repository. The platform offers interactive tools, including generative AI capabilities, that enable users to efficiently search, analyze, and visualize data in support of real-time decision-making and inter-agency collaboration.
Peregrine has been widely adopted by public safety agencies throughout the Bay Area. The County's use of this platform will support the development and operation of the Real-Time Crime/Intelligence Center and enhance regional collaboration efforts aimed at improving public safety outcomes.
DISCUSSION:
This agreement represents the County Executive Office's initiative to fund the initial 18 months of a 40-month agreement with Peregrine for participating law enforcement agencies. Participating agencies include the police departments of Atherton, Belmont, Brisbane, Broadmoor, Burlingame, Colma, Daly City, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Hillsborough, Menlo Park, Pacifica, Redwood City, San Bruno, San Mateo and South San Francisco, as well as the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and the District Attorney's Office. Following the initial 18-month period, individual agencies may elect to continue participation by funding their respective portions of the contract costs. The Sheriff's Office will serve as the lead agency and administer the contract during the initial 18 months.
