BACKGROUND:
On October 22, 2024 the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 080715, which authorized the Director of Public Works to execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the County of San Mateo and the San Mateo County Transit District for the passthrough of $575,200 from the Lifeline Transportation Program Cycle 7 awarded by the City and County Association of Governments of San Mateo County to the County of San Mateo for the North Fair Oaks Community Connections Project. The MOU was subsequently executed on November 13, 2024.

The Lifeline Transportation Program (LTP), established by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, funds operation and construction of capital projects that improves mobility for low-income residents in the San Francisco Bay Area.

DISCUSSION:
The Lifeline Transportation Program Cycle 7 Project (Project) will include upgrading Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramps to current standards and installing curb extensions, high visibility crosswalks, bicycle sharrows, and signage to provide pedestrian and bicycle improvements.
