BACKGROUND:
On December 10, 2024, the County and Empowerment Through Action at Hillsdale ("ETA") entered into a Measure K Grant Agreement ("Agreement") to provide one tuff shed and three lead positions for the 2024-25 school year for Peace Pantry, Community Garden, and Community Closet in an amount not to exceed $19,500 for the term December 10, 2024 to July 31, 2025.
DISCUSSION:
ETA has requested an amendment to the agreement to extend the term through December 31, 2025 and to replace stipend budget items with direct funding for garden materials. To date, ETA has purchased a new Tuff Shed using Measure K grant funds. The Tuff Shed stores critical infrastructure for ETA's Peace Pantry, including tables, mobile carts, signage, cleaning supplies, canopies, and other items.
In addition to the Tuff Shed, the original Agreement includes funding to provide stipends to compensate three adult leads for Peace Pantry, Community Garden, and Community Closet. However, since the execution of the Agreement, ETA has received funding from the San Mateo Union High School District to cover the cost of these stipends.
