Recommendation for the appointment of Larisa Ocañada to the Commission on the Status of Women, for an initial term ending December 31, 2028.

BACKGROUND:

The Commission is charged with the responsibility of assessing the needs of women, girls and families in the County. It acts as a resource and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors annually.

 

DISCUSSION:

Larisa Ocañada is being recommended to serve on a seat formerly held by Anisha Weber, who resigned in December 2024 after more than a decade of dedicated service. Approval of this appointment is for a term through December 31, 2028.

 

Larisa is a proud resident of South San Francisco. She currently works for SAMCEDA and was heavily involved in the County of San Mateo’s economic recovery initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic. Larisa also serves on the KQED Community Advisory Panel and is a graduate of Leadership Council San Mateo County Emerging Leaders program.
