BACKGROUND:

The Commission is charged with the responsibility of assessing the needs of women, girls and families in the County. It acts as a resource and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors annually.

 

DISCUSSION:

Megan Crowell is being recommended for appointment to a seat with an existing partial term ending December 31, 2026, as formerly held by Ellen Tafeen who resigned mid-term.

 

Meghan Crowell has extensive experience volunteering in the community and has a deep interest in women’s rights and empowerment. She is a former member of the Community Relations Commission for the City of San Mateo, is a Trustee for the Episcopal Day School of St. Matthew’s and is a current Board Member at Help A Mother Out. She holds a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Golden Gate University School of Law. Meghan and her family reside in San Mateo.
