BACKGROUND:
The mission of the San Mateo County Commission on Aging (CoA) is to improve the quality of life for seniors in San Mateo County through the promotion of independence, self-sufficiency, mental and physical health, as well as community involvement.
DISCUSSION:
William “Bill” Lock is being recommended for appointment to a seat formerly held by Eileen Barsi, who resigned at the end of her term on June 30, 2025.
For over ten years, Bill Lock has been involved in issues affecting older adults through his work with Kimochi, Inc., On Lok, Self Help for the Elderly, American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), and on the City of South San Francisco’s Parks and Recreation Commission. He wishes to bring his knowledge and experiences related to senior health, transportation, and existing services to improve the lives of seniors. Bill brings empathy, positive listening and analytical skills in strategy, finance, operations, and real estate.
