BACKGROUND:
Bay Area Peninsula Anesthesia Associates, Inc. (BAPAA) began providing anesthesia coverage to San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) for operative and outpatient procedures and on-call coverage on March 1, 2023. BAPAA was incorporated by Dr. Currie Lee, an experienced anesthesiologist who historically provided anesthesiology services under contract individually and under his prior affiliation with Medical Anesthesia Consultants Medical Group, Inc.
