BACKGROUND:
On May 21, 2024, this Board adopted Resolution No. 080344, which authorized an agreement with TEF Architecture and Interior Design, Inc. (TEF Architecture) as a result of a Request for Proposal for on-call architectural and engineering consulting services conducted by the Project Development Unit. TEF Architecture was tasked with preparing the design documents for the Family Justice Center Tenant Improvement Project (Project) at 1510 Fashion Island Boulevard in San Mateo. TEF Architecture has identified several unforeseen conditions during the design for the Project which will require an increase in the services to complete the project design documents.
DISCUSSION:
The Department of Public Works is managing the Project and is requesting an amendment to the Agreement with TEF Architecture to expand the scope of work to include supplementary water and sewer design features. Additionally, TEF Architecture will provide the comprehensive civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering calculations required to safely upgrade the water distribution infrastructure extending from the designated utility meter. This work ensures regulatory compliance and system reliability for the facility.
Amendment No. 2 is for an additional $165,750 for a new not-to-exceed amount of $1,194,914 with no change in term.
