BACKGROUND:
This Board has adopted similar resolutions designating parking restrictions.
Section 22507 et al. of the California Vehicle Code and Section 7.44.010 of the San Mateo County (County) Ordinance Code provide that local authorities may determine and declare disabled (ADA) parking zone locations by resolution.
DISCUSSION:
The Department of Public Works (Department) received a request from the property owner at 2750 Halsey Avenue, in the North Fair Oaks area, to establish an ADA parking zone adjacent to this property to facilitate parking.
The Department evaluated this request and has determined that the requested parking restriction will not adversely affect the community. The Department recommends adoption of the 20-foot ADA Accessible Parking Zone restriction at the identified location, which is shown on Attachment A.
The locations of parking zones and other traffic restrictions on County maintained streets are currently shown on maps maintained by Department and will be made available in list and map (geographical information system) form on the Department's website. The master list and map will be updated to reflect the recommended change if the Board approves the proposed resolution.
County Attorney has reviewed and approved the resolution as to form.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The staff costs for evaluating and processing requests for traffic regulations is paid for by the Road Fund as part of the administrative cost associated with evaluating traffic-related requests on the County...
