BACKGROUND:
On June 24, 2025, this Board adopted Master Salary Resolution 081316, which specifies the number of and provides compensation and benefits for persons employed by the County of San Mateo, sets appropriate rules and regulations, and repeals all inconsistent ordinances and resolutions. Throughout the year, the salary resolution is amended from time to time to meet the needs of the County.

DISCUSSION:
The salary resolution changes herein represent the:

* addition of one special compensation provision;
* deletion of four positions;
* addition of four positions;
* reclassification of two positions.

These amendments to the resolution have been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney's Office as to form. The specific actions are discussed in detail below.

18000 TECHNOLOGY SERVICES DEPARTMENT

Action: Add: A special compensation of 8% for IS Analyst/Specialist II employees in Technology Services Department who are assigned periodic project management work.

Explanation: This action amends Section 5 of the Master Salary Resolution to add an 8% hourly pay differential, in addition to all other compensation, for any IS Analyst/Specialist II employees who are assigned periodic project management work by the Director. The 8% differential shall be paid only for the hours worked on the project and applies to smaller, short-term projects.
