Adopt a resolution authorizing an amendment to the agreement with Motorola, Inc. to provide lifecycle sustainment and maintenance services for the County's public safety communications system, extending the term through June 30, 2024, and increasing the agreement amount by $1,861,655.06, in an amount not to exceed $3,707,620.06.

BACKGROUND:
On December 3, 2019, the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution Number 077064 and the County entered into an Agreement Number 18000-20-R077064A with Motorola, Inc. to provide lifecycle sustainment and maintenance services for the public safety communications system used throughout the County for law enforcement and emergency services. This agreement included the ability to extend the services for additional periods at a level cost throughout the entire lifecycle of the engagement.
On April 20, 2022, Amendment Number 1 was executed for a revised term of July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2022.
The Information Services Department (ISD) has conducted a thorough operational audit of services included in this agreement and has determined that the most appropriate course of action would be to request that your Board authorize an amendment to the agreement with Motorola, Inc.
DISCUSSION:
ISD hereby requests waiving the Request for Proposal (RFP) process as Motorola, Inc. is the only vendor that can provide the lifecycle sustainment and maintenance services. The digital, state of the art, radio communications system cannot be support by any other organization, nor does Motorola, Inc. offer such services through resellers.
