BACKGROUND:
The Project Development Unit (PDU) oversees multiple capital construction projects that require specialized project and construction management support. PDU regularly maintains a variety of construction professional service agreements to provide the unit with expertise in construction management and the ability to expedite construction projects for the County.

DISCUSSION:
On September 8, 2023, PDU conducted a formal Request for Proposal for Project and Construction Management Services. An interdepartmental selection committee reviewed submissions and selected multiple firms including Advanced Management and Consulting, LLC (AMC).

On September 10, 2024, PDU entered into an agreement with AMC to provide support on multiple ground up construction projects for a term that expires on September 9, 2027. The maximum amount authorized to be expended under the amended agreement is $725,000.

AMC has provided successful third-party construction management consulting services and change order negotiations on multiple County construction contracts. AMC has provided support on the Cordilleras, County Office Building 3, San Mateo Medical Center, Parking Structure 2, and Navigation Center projects.
