Recommendation for the appointment of Christian Aponte to the North Fair Oaks Community Council (NFOCC), representing as a Member in the Resident community, for an initial partial term ending December 31, 2026.

BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to resolution of the Board of Supervisors, the bylaws of the North Fair Oaks Community Council (NFOCC) have historically provided for nine voting adult members, representing as a resident (homeowner or renter) or a representative of a business located in the North Fair Oaks area. In addition, the Council may include one youth member and one youth member alternate.
DISCUSSION:
Upon the recommendation of NFOCC Chair Juan Carlos Prado and the interviewing subcommittee, Christian Aponte is being recommended to serve representing as a Resident community member for an existing partial term ending December 31, 2026 on a seat formerly held by resigned member Niket Sirsi.
Christian is a lifelong resident of North Fair Oaks and a proud graduate of Fair Oaks Elementary. He earned his B.A. in Spanish from UC Davis and has been committed to community service since his time at Sequoia High School, where he tutored youth through Project READ. Most recently, Christian served on the North Star Forward Committee, working to address equity challenges impacting underserved students in the Redwood City School District. As a regular transit rider and cyclist, he brings a firsthand perspective on the transportation and environmental concerns facing North Fair Oaks residents.
