Adopt a resolution authorizing an Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement with CMI Contractors, Inc. for on-call inspector of record services, increasing the not-to-exceed amount by $600,000, for a new not-to-exceed amount of $925,000 with no change in term.

body
BACKGROUND:
On July 11, 2023, this Board adopted Resolution No. 079814(h), authorizing an Agreement CMI Contractors, Inc. (CMI) for inspector of record services on an as-needed basis to assist with numerous Department of Public Works (Department) managed Capital Projects. The Agreement term was from July 11, 2023 through July 10, 2026 for a not-to-exceed amount of $300,000.

On December 31, 2024, as authorized by Resolution No. 079814(h), the Director of Public Works executed Amendment No. 1 increasing the not-to-exceed amount by $25,000, for a new not-to-exceed amount of $325,000 and extending the term through July 10, 2028.

DISCUSSION:
The Department recommends an amendment to the agreement with CMI for an additional $600,000 for a new not-to-exceed amount of $925,000, with no change in term. This will allow CMI to continue inspector of record services for various projects at the San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) including the SMMC SPD (Sterile Processing Department) Equipment Replacement/Upgrade Project, SMMC Lab Cobas Analyzer Project, and SMMC Elevator Modernization Project, as well as other Capital Improvement Plan projects. Amending the CMI Agreement will leverage their familiarity of the SMMC projects through completion.

County Attorney has reviewed and approved the resolution and amendment as to form.
