Adopt a resolution:
A) Authorizing the County Executive Officer, or designee, to execute an agreement between the County of San Mateo and the United States Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration to implement the Safe Streets and Roadways for All Pescadero Creek Road Rural Safety Planning and Demonstration Project; and
B) Authorizing the County Executive Officer, or designee, to execute and submit applicable amendments, which may be necessary for the completion of the current and future projects.

BACKGROUND:
On December 13, 2022, this Board adopted Resolution No. 079393 which approved the unincorporated San Mateo County Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP). The LRSP creates a framework to systematically identify and analyze safety concerns and recommend enhancements on local roads. The approved LRSP included recommendations for improvements to Pescadero Creek Road, which align with the Safe Streets and Roadways for All (SS4A) program requirements and build on the recommendations outlined in the LRSP.
On August 1, 2023, this Board adopted Resolution No. 079873 which approved the Road Safety Audit (RSA) Report for Pescadero Creek Road, which was completed through technical assistance received from the California Division of the Federal Highway Administration. The approved audit included recommendations for improvements along Pescadero Creek Road.
On May 16, 2024, the Department of Public Works applied for a SS4A grant for roadway improvements on Pescadero Creek Road in the unincorporated area of San Mateo County. On September 5, 2024, the United States Department of Transportati...
