BACKGROUND:
On October 8, 2019, the Board approved an agreement with StarVista for mental health services and substance use disorder treatment services, for the term July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2021, in an amount not to exceed $8,821,793.

DISCUSSION:
StarVista continues to provide: (1) mental health services offered through the Mental Health Plan; (2) Early Childhood Community Team services to young children; (3) staffing of the Co-Chair of the Diversity and Equity Council; (4) Mindfulness-Based Substance Abuse Treatment; (5) texting and social media support through its Crisis Hotline; and (6) recruitment of youth ages 16-24 that have experienced mental health and substance use challenges to participate in the Health Ambassador Program for Youth training and community outreach. Additionally, through the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer (LGBTQ) Center, StarVista continues to address the complex and various needs of LGBTQ persons at high risk for serious mental illness and/or serious emotional disability by providing counseling and crisis intervention, case management, peer support services, and substance use services. Lastly, through the Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System waiver, StarVista provides expanded services for children, youth, families, adults, and older adults.
