BACKGROUND:
On February 11, 2025, through Resolution No. 080927, this Board approved the agreement with the City and County of San Francisco (CCSF) for the distribution of FY 2024 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) grant funds in the amount of $976,990, and for a term commencing November 1, 2024, through December 31, 2025.

On May 22, 2025, the Sheriff's Office executed the first amendment to the FY 2024 UASI grant agreement, extending the grant term to December 31, 2026.

On December 15, 2025, the Sheriff's Office executed the second amendment to the FY 2024 UASI grant agreement, moving grant funds between projects.

On April 1, 2026, the CCSF proposed the third amendment to the FY 2024 UASI grant agreement, increasing the amount by $330,160 from $976,990 to $1,307,150. The additional funds will be used to enhance San Mateo County's medical and health disaster response capability, hazmat team communication, coastal resilience to terrorism, and to purchase digital evidence analysis and investigation tools.

DISCUSSION:
The Sheriff's Office is requesting this Board to authorize the third amendment to the agreement with the CCSF for the distribution of FY 2024 UASI grant funds that increases the amount to $1,307,150.

The Sheriff's Office is also requesting this Board to authorize the Sheriff or Sheriff's designee to execute amendments to agreements which modify the County's maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or...
