BACKGROUND:
In June 2024, this Board approved an agreement with Telecare Corporation for the term of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025, in an amount not to exceed $7,169,915 for psychiatric treatment services and long-term care for clients of the Public Guardian.

Telecare Corporation (Telecare) is one of the nation's largest providers of adult mental health services. Telecare operates programs tailored to individuals with co-occurring conditions such as homelessness, substance use disorder, and developmental disabilities. Telecare has provided psychiatric treatment services for County residents since 1982.

DISCUSSION:
The amendment is for the necessary extension of services provided by Telecare for the Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC) and Cordilleras Suites program through January 2025. This extension is necessary due to the delayed opening of the new Cordilleras Health and Healing Campus, which was expected to open in September 2024 but did not open until December 2024. Telecare continued services at the Cordilleras MHRC and Cordilleras Suites program while residents transitioned out to placements in the new Cordilleras Health and Healing Campus or other residential facilities in the County.
