BACKGROUND:
Denise Strehl wishes to donate $28,712.94 to the Coroner's Office for the purpose of purchasing Live Scan equipment and mobile ID devices, which is used to help identify decedents through postmortem fingerprinting and the transmission of such fingerprints to the California Department of Justice.

DISCUSSION:
County Administrative Memorandum B-3 provides, in relevant part, that "receipt of each gift or bequest having a value of more than $2,500 or with significant conditions or stipulations shall be acknowledged in writing by the department head and referred to the Board of Supervisors for acceptance or rejection."

Therefore, staff recommends that the Board accept the $28,712.94 donation from Denise Strehl for the purchase of Live Scan equipment and Mobile ID devices.

Staff further recommends that the Board approve an ATR in the amount of $28,712.94 by transferring such amount to the Coroner's Office Gifts and Donations revenue account.
