A) Adopt a resolution authorizing execution of an agreement with the State of California Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) for distribution of the FY 2025 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program funds to the County of San Mateo Sheriff's Office, for the term of October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026, in an amount not to exceed $578,998; and
B) Approve an Appropriation Transfer Request (ATR) in the amount of $578,998 to establish a budget appropriation and record revenue for the FY 2025 Edward Byrne Memorial Justic Assistance Grant (JAG) Program.

BACKGROUND:
The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program, sub-awarded through the State of California Board of State and Community Corrections, offers an opportunity for government entities to obtain funding for equipment, supplies, and training initiatives. The JAG Program funds support a range of program areas including law enforcement, prosecution, courts, crime prevention and education, drug treatment and enforcement, technology improvement, and mental health programs and related law enforcement and corrections programs.
DISCUSSION:
The Sheriff's Office applied for and has been awarded the FY 2025 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program grant in the amount of $578,998, for a period commencing October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026.
