body
BACKGROUND:
On March 25, 2025, this Board approved Resolution No. 080993 authorizing the Project Development Unit (PDU) to enter into an Agreement with Perkins&Will, Inc. to provide architectural, engineering and related design services for the Pescadero Fire Station No. 59 Project (Project) in an amount not to exceed $2,717,851 and authorizing the Director of the PDU to execute amendments to the agreement up to an aggregate amount not to exceed $135,893, thereby increasing the not to exceed amount to $2,853,744.
The Director of PDU authorized Amendment Nos. One through Three to execute $135,325 of available contingency for a new not-to-exceed amount of $2,853,176.
DISCUSSION:
The available contingency funds under this Agreement have nearly been exhausted and the Project requires additional services.
The Department of Public Works (Department) is managing the Project through completion and is recommending Amendment No. 4 to increase the not-to-exceed amount by an additional $136,461 for a new not-to-exceed amount of $2,989,637 with no change in term. This will allow Perkins&Will, Inc. to continue to provide architectural, engineering and related services for the duration of the Project through completion.
The County Attorney has reviewed and approved the resolution and amendment as to form.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Having an architect as part of the Project team will translate social goals into sustainable, equitable, and functional physical spaces for the Fire Station occupants. They ensure safety, maximize limited budgets, and foster community cohesion by designing spaces that promote interaction and improve public health.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding to support this Agreement has been included in the FY 2025-26 Adopted Budget and the FY 2026-27 Recommended Budget.
There is no additional impact to the General Fund.
