Adopt a resolution authorizing an amendment to the agreement with Otis Elevator Corporation for elevator maintenance services increasing the maximum amount by an additional $400,000 for a new not to exceed amount of $1,631,800 with no change to the term.

BACKGROUND:
On March 23, 2021, this Board approved Resolution No. 078088 authorizing an agreement with Otis Elevator Corporation for a not to exceed amount of $1,206,800 for elevator maintenance services.
On April 1, 2024, by authority of Resolution No. 078088, the Director of Public Works executed Amendment No. 1 to increase the not to exceed amount by $25,000 for a new not to exceed amount of $1,231,800 and extend the term of the agreement through December 31, 2024.
DISCUSSION:
The Department of Public Works (Department) recommends an amendment to the agreement with Otis Elevator Corporation. The amendment is necessary to allow Otis Elevator Corporation to continue to provide elevator and escalator maintenance services throughout the County’s building portfolio while the Department conducts a Request for Proposal process for a subsequent elevator maintenance services contract.
The Department requests that Amendment No. 2 to the Otis Elevator Corporation agreement, increasing the not to exceed amount by $400,000 for a new not to exceed amount of $1,631,800 with no change in term, be executed.
County Attorney has reviewed and approved the resolution and amendment as to form.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement increases the not to exceed amount by $400,000 for a new not to exceed amount of $1,631,800 with no change in term. Funding for this amendment is included in the Department Budget for FY 2024-25. There is no additional impact to the General Fund.
