BACKGROUND:
The Youth Commission advises the Board of Supervisors on issues related to the youth in San Mateo County. The Board of Supervisors is responsible for appointing members to the Youth Commission based on interviews with applicants. The Youth Commission may have up to 25 members. Each Youth Commissioner is appointed to a one-year term of office that ends June 30, 2018, up to four terms until the age of 21.
DISCUSSION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors appoint the following 25 youth as members of the Youth Commission for 2017-18:
