On February 11, 2025, through Resolution No. 080927, this Board approved the agreement with the City and County of San Francisco (CCSF) for the distribution of FY 2024 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) grant funds in the amount of $976,990, and for a term commencing November 1, 2024, through December 31, 2025.

On May 22, 2025, the Sheriff’s Office executed the first amendment to the FY 2024 UASI grant agreement, extending the grant term to December 31, 2026.

On December 15, 2025, the Sheriff’s Office executed the second amendment to the FY 2024 UASI grant agreement, moving grant funds between projects.

On April 1, 2026, the CCSF proposed the third amendment to the FY 2024 UASI grant agreement, increasing the amount by $330,160 from $976,990 to $1,307,150.  The additional funds will be used to enhance San Mateo County’s medical and health disaster response capability, hazmat team communication, coastal resilience to terrorism, and to purchase digital evidence analysis and investigation tools.
