BACKGROUND:
On January 2, 2024 the Sheriff's Office submitted a grant application on behalf of the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC) to the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) for the California Comprehensive School Security (CCSS) Grant Program.

On January 31, 2024 the Sheriff's Office received a Grant Subaward Application Approval from Cal OES for the CCSS grant program in an amount not to exceed $142,333 to assist local school districts in the NCRIC's area of responsibility to identify and address the needs and gaps in school violence prevention and intervention.

DISCUSSION:
The Sheriff's Office is requesting this Board to accept the grant award from Cal OES for the CCSS grant program for the NCRIC for a term commencing October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024 in an amount not to exceed $142,333.

The Sheriff's Office is also requesting this Board to authorize the Sheriff or Sheriff's designee to execute amendments to agreements which modify the County's maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the agreement term ...
