BACKGROUND:
This Board has adopted similar resolutions regarding parking restrictions.

Section 22507 et seq. of the California Vehicle Code and Section 7.24.010 et seq. of the San Mateo County Ordinance Code provides that local authorities may prohibit or restrict the stopping, parking or standing of vehicles by resolution or ordinance.

DISCUSSION:
The Broadmoor Police Department seeks to revise existing parking restrictions within the County right-of-way on A Street between Reiner Street and El Camino Real (State Highway 82). The existing "Two Hour Time Limited Parking" restrictions generally apply Monday through Friday, except Holidays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The proposed revisions would be for "Two Hour Time Limited Parking" from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except Holidays. This modification, most notably, provides residents living in the vicinity more flexibility for parking on A Street in the morning and afternoon hours.

The Department recommends rescinding portions of Resolution No 067697 in order to establish the "Time Limited Parking" zones as shown on Exhibit "A".
