RECOMMENDATION:
title
Adopt a resolution authorizing the President of this Board to execute an amendment to the agreement with Vanir Construction Management, Inc. increasing the agreement by $1,000,000 for a new not to exceed contract value of $5,468,944.

body
BACKGROUND:
The Project Development Unit (PDU), tasked with executing the County's Capital Projects program, oversees, and manages over $500 million in new construction for the County. PDU sought Request for Proposals for construction and project management services to augment staffing needs. In August 2017, this Board authorized an agreement with Vanir Construction Management, Inc. (Vanir).

DISCUSSION:
Construction Management professional services provide representation of the owner's interest and oversight, as directed by the owner, either over the entire project build, or a phase of the project build. Vanir has assisted with effective management of the schedule, costs, quality, safety, scope, and overall project needs. This amendment will allow for the continued augmented staffing support required to complete the multiple capital projects currently under way.

The Resolution contains a standard provision authorizing the PDU Director to approve amendments to the agreement in an amount not to exceed $25,000.

County Attorney has reviewed and approved the amendment and resolution as to form.
