Recommendation to reappoint the following members to the Emergency Medical Care Committee:

 

A)                     Dr. David Goldschmid, M.D. representing the San Mateo County Medical Association for a third term ending March 31, 2028; and

 

B)                     Jody Greenhalgh as a Consumer representative for a second term ending March 31, 2028.

BACKGROUND:

The Emergency Medical Care Committee (EMCC) is responsible for reviewing and reporting its observations and recommendations to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors and the local Emergency Medical Services Agency (EMS Agency) regarding the emergency medical services system. The Committee monitors and presents recommendations to improve emergency medical care in San Mateo County.

The EMCC consists of 20 members appointed by the Board, for terms of four years, for up to three consecutive terms. Among EMCC’s 20 members it must have, among other requirements, one (1) representative of the San Mateo County Medical Association and five (5) consumer representatives who have no pecuniary or professional interest in emergency medical care, and whose primary residence is in San Mateo County.

 

DISCUSSION:

Dr. Goldschmid has been recommended for reappointment by the San Mateo County Medical Association. Dr. Goldschmid has served on the EMCC since 2015 and brings to the Committee more than 30 years of experience in the practice of emergency medicine in San Mateo County. Approval of this reappointment would reflect as a third term.

 

Jody Greenhalgh has served on the EMCC since 2019 and brings to the Committee extensive experience as an Occupational​ Therapist with Stanford Healthcare  and a counselor within the San Mateo County Critical Incident Stress Management Team.
